Diagnosed with brain cancer in 1999, I started running shortly thereafter. I'm not entirely sure why (I had always hated running) -- to stay in shape, to raise money, to think, or some combination of these reasons. This blog is simply the thoughts that occur to a cancer survivor on any of many encounters with the road.

A Bit of Motivation...
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. He knows that if he doesn't outrun the fastest lion, he will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. He knows that if he doesn't outrun the slowest gazelle, he will starve. So, whether you're a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up -- you'd better be running.
